Side bets run alongside regular bets when playing blackjack. It is important to note that side bets and the rules that govern these side bets are completely separate from the game itself. Your side bet cannot affect your regular hand or your regular bet. There are many different types of side bets, some of which will be detailed below.
The Royal Match Side Bet
The Royal Match side bet that players take when they think that the first two hands of their hand will be from the same suit. Players can win the Royal Match (RM) side bet if the first two cards dealt are in fact of the same suit. If the player is lucky enough to obtain a Queen and King from the same suit then the payout will be quite substantial.
Over/Under 13 Side Bet
This side bet allows players to bet whether the first 2 cards dealt to them will have a combined total of more or less than 13. If their hand is exactly 13 then the player will lose their side bet. If the player is correct at guessing the value of the hand then they will win 2x their wager.
Lucky Ladies Side Bet
This is a side bet that players make when they think that their first 2 cards will have a combined total of 20. There are certain combos that will pay out more than others. For example a Jack and a ten will not pay out as much as two Queen of Hearts cards will. This is one of the riskiest side bets around and players should only take the chance if they have been using card count techniques and feel quite strongly about their odds of winning.
Super Sevens Side Bet
This particular side bet is one that players opt for when they feel that the odds that they will be dealt sevens are quite high. A player will win a relatively handsome sum if the first 1, 2, or 3 cards they are dealt are sevens from the same suit.
